About Us

Destination Livingstone (DL) was established to make Livingstone a more attractive and competitive tourist destination. Our goal is to increase the long-term social and economic benefits that tourism can bring to the people, businesses and the local economy of Livingstone. We aim to see that Livingstone continues to become a better place for people to live, work and visit. Our approach is innovative in that private, public and community sectors are all represented on the DL Board.

As a non-profit organisation, we are always seeking new ways to fund our projects and to keep up with our own running costs. Much of our funds come from donor organisations and international government development funds. However, we also seek for ways to raise funds ourselves through various initiatives.

One of those initiatives is the GovicFalls website and app. Whilst we are an impartial player in the tourism and business sectors of Livingstone, we do wherever possible, provide affiliate links to booking sites like Viator and booking.com from within our listings. This will hopefully raise some revenue that can go towards some of our programs. However, we still provide direct contact details within the listings should anyone prefer to book directly with an operator. And if a property/tour is not affiliated with an online tour operator we will still list them here without prejudice.

You may find some listings are more complete than others. This is by no means by design. The app/website is still young and we are working on it on a daily basis.
