Pact Zambia

Pact began working in Zambia in 2015 to reduce new HIV infections in the country. While Zambia has made considerable strides in slowing the spread of HIV, its prevalence rate remains one of the highest in the world. Pact is taking an integrated approach to stem the epidemic.Focusing on high-risk groups, we are using radio, television and other kinds of outreach and education to boost HIV awareness, change risky behavior and increase the use of HIV services.We are also working closely with local Zambian organizations and institutions — building their capacity to plan, implement and monitor their own quality programmes to stop the spread of HIV. And we are training “HIV prevention champions” and health workers, engaging community leaders and the private sector, and scaling up community-led outreach and dialogues.In partnership with PEPFAR, Pact implements DREAMS in Zambia, helping girls and young women be independent and HIV-free.
