The first experience is a speedboat adventure through islands and channels up the Zambezi River to Cafe’s riverside location where you will be met on arrival by members of a herd of rescued elephants for a once-in-a-lifetime meeting. Lastly you will be invited into the Elephant Cafe situated on a wooden deck over hanging the Zambezi River for a unique dining experience.


The meal is prix fixe, so guests can sit back and relax over the delicious bush gourmet cuisine unique to this restaurant including wild edibles and locally-sourced fresh and organic ingredients. Road transfers are available as an alternative method of transport. Advance Reservation is essential. The Cafe only seats 24 so book early to avoid disappointment.


Quality Cuisine

The Elephant Café offers African fusion food created with wild and locally-sourced ingredients. The menu is inspired by European, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines. The fine dining menu changes according to the seasonal ingredients that are available at the time. The Elephant Café provide unprocessed, preservative-free food that is produced in Zambia.


The Elephant Café support the local Livingstone growers as well as the river communities who help to forage for the wild ingredients. The food is distinctive not only for its flavor and freshness, but also for its colourful originality. Many of the wild nuts, fruits and leaves that are used are also much loved by elephants.


Three Options in One

This activity affords three experiences in one. Enjoy a speedboat transfer (approx.40 mins) from Livingstone up the Zambezi River to their exclusive tented restaurant built on a wooden deck upstream from Victoria Falls. There will be opportunities to spot the wildlife along the river as you make your way to the café. Animals you may encounter are hippo, crocodile, elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, various antelope, fish eagle and many other bird life.


The Elephant Café’s riverside location is centre point to a herd of hand-reared elephants. These elephants have been rescued, many of them as small orphaned elephants, from the ravages of poaching. You will have the opportunity to meet the herd, learn their stories and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime close encounter with these gentle giants before you are welcomed into The Elephant Café for a unique dining experience.


Clients have the option of arriving by speedboat or with a road transfer from your Livingstone accommodation. Return transfers and limited alcoholic / non-alcoholic drinks are included in the rate. Minimum Age is 10yrs.
