Take a guided tour of the centre-piece of Livingstone that is the Victoria Falls. Afterall, it is why you are visiting here probably.
The tour costs $45 per adult and $22.50 for children under 12. A guided Victoria Falls tour with Bushtracks includes return transfers from/to your accommodation, the guided tour itself, parke entry fees and water. You will learn the history of the Falls and the surrounding area. Venture across the Knife Edge bridge if you dare and view the Falls from all the vantage points available.
Water levels from December/January through to July are very high so you should expect to be drenched fairly early into your tour. A water-proof raincoat and umbrella are provided by Bushtracks, but seeing as a lot of the spray is “falling” upwards from the gorge below, it will find its way under most water-proof garments and brollies. Not to worry though, it is part of the experience. If you are bringing a camera you should also bring a watertight bag to keep it dry. Having said all that, this is probably the best time of year to see the Falls in their full glory, just donÂ’t expect any silent solitude, the Falls are loud when at full-flow. The Smoke That Thunders indeed! The Falls are very low in October when not much water flows over the edge making for a drier Victoria Falls tour experience. This is probably the best time to view the Victoria Falls cliff faces which provides a better view of the shear scale of the gorge, revealing all the nooks and crannies that are hidden when the water is in full flow.
Tour times are flexible.
